Beta-Reading?

There's been a discussion on unmet needs in the therian community over on Werelist, and one idea someone brought up was that of beta-readers, copy-editors for some of the articles and essays written in the community.

So... I volunteer my services as a beta-reader if anyone wants 'em. I could probably use someone to help proof-read my own stuff before I publish it on Beyond Awakening or Birds of a Feather as well, if anyone is interested in that sort of thing.

Ha, I just commented a bit earlier on Beyond Awakening about how folks have been posting and are still encouraged to post their article drafts and whatnot here! Especially as AQ allows locked entries, it can be convenient to use as a space to get feedback.

Meirya, that was me! :D Thanks for posting this here. I'm also going to be volunteering to edit, though I haven't posted it publically yet as I'm taking time to settle into a new job. Would you be interested in doing an essay swap or something like that, so we could show a sample of what we're offering?

I've got an essay that needs looking at, though it's not terribly experiential or poetic or anything. (It'll be going onto Beyond Awakening next month.) If you've got something queued up, I'd be happy to take a look!

*raises hand* I'm a proofreader. I used to copy edit a newspaper.

My time is less open these days, but I'm sure I could proof things for folks here and there.
