Fire Prompt

Fire is beautiful. Blossoming tongues of heat shimmer in vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows, with only the faintest hint of cornflower blue flame. There is no doubt that fire dances as it works, and the desire to join in is fierce.
Fire is powerful. It can level entire landscapes and sustain life. A desired alliance with such power could be why our ancestors held rituals and religious rites around a roaring bonfire.
Fire is a teacher. It shows us the consequences of our actions. Its ability to burn flesh warns us not to get too close. We can control fire certainly, but never tame it. Even with our technology, we are nothing against the terrible fury of a full fire. It is a weapon not to be used carelessly.
I respect fire. Though I supposedly harbor some astrological connection to fire, I have always felt that fire is a fickle master who provides and sustains until it decides to whip, subdue, and possibly destroy me on a mere whim. I have always felt a connection with water (oceans in particular), even though I am apprehensive of what swims unknown in the deeps.
If we ever have a prompt on water, I think I could write something better. Sorry it's a tad on the short side. ^^
